Ok, so GLR are about to be back shortly. Here is a teaser by one of the big oldschoolers – Dj Tayla. Featuring a bunch of new stuff hopefully to be found in the crates of your recordstore of choice soon. This is some hot hot hot stuff!
After growing up on the outskirts of North London and developing a love for Detroit House music and breakbeats, I quickly formed a friendship with another local DJ, LTJ Bukem and around 1990 moved into the drum and bass scene […] I have begun producing again with a guy called “Furney”, who I met through a good friend, “MC Conrad”. We have various releases scheduled on “Good Looking” and “Creative Source” and I’m looking forward to the revival of a brilliant label and picking up where I left off……

First thing I noticed is that it’s REALLY fast for GLR’s usual sound… Sounded ok though, maybe a bit on the “liquid” side rather than atmopspheric. Bit disappointed but I guess this is just 1 DJ’s perspective of things.

the second track is great, that urgent vocal made me feel like “calibre is going crazy”!!! other tracks are ear-friendly too.
i concur. gone are the heydays of atmos-dnb in the GLO camp. instead, this sound has been continued elsewhere.
Def great to see Tayla back on the scene he is coming to new york soon so that is def going to be a plus! Great mix, great tracks. Elegant sexy drum & bass in the place!
so i found that the female vocal is not coming from calibre’s corner dance, anyway it sounds great
so, I just found out tayla, more then likely will be playing at fluid in north hampton mass, in new england usa, some time in the middle of october. this is not a shameless plug, just trying to perpetuate the movement plus the admission is *FREE*
