  8. I am afraid I have to disagree with my fellow colleague Soundsurfer; Pendulum messing up bigtime? Definitively not music wise. With things like this video etc I don’t think its ALL up to them these days… Since they’ve made quite a crossover and made a lot of the non-dnb public start paying attention, it’s safe to say some decisions have been taken over by “the industry”. The industry is hungry for money, and some things need to be compromised to be appealing to the general public. I don’t like the audio edit, don’t think much of the video either (come on, how many times do people have to hit those columns?!) but I’ve got nothing but superlatives for the album, the remixes and basically anything Pendulum do lately. I know what it is to sit in front of a sequencer, trying to make a decent sounding loop of two bars, spending hours and not really going anywhere… and then listening from the begining till the end ANY of their tunes… My point being – sorry for the rant – don’t be dissing them, it’s not entirely up to them anymore. Voodoo people is owned by the Prodigy you know… or even XL or whatever label. As for Pendulum’s music, I strongly believe even some finer beats are on the horizon.. and can only hope the boys keep doing the good work they do. Tarantula isn’t all that bad, its a very creative tune once you get to LISTEN to it.

  9. well, production-wise they are great, no doubt about it. they do have some great bits (like “still grey”), but my point was that these kinda tunes (tarantula, voodoo people rmx) really do seperate listeners by sounding rather funny (kinda clownsteppy like), which turns off most people. voodoo people is a great tune, by adding the pendulum flavour to it some people (like me) aren’t happy about it, yet it’s party appeal is amazing.
    me personally I don’t like tarantula that much, but i guess that’s just me.

  11. Bottom line is that we need artists like Pendulum to get people to take notice of dnb as a whole, even if they themselves aren’t the best example of what dnb is capable of.

  15. What a load of crap worse direction I’ve seen for ages, completely put me off the tune this music video does’nt do this track any justice seeing dumb rude boy plebs running around the street like a load of dullards is one of the reasons I’ve gone off dnb hardly inteligent is it?

  16. The Video was pretty rubbish really.. badly directed and not particularly impressive. Why does this version of the tune sound so different from the one Ive got on promo, the promo one is better, the video one seems badly edited.
    Pendulum are wicked but they will need to start changing their sound if they want to keep peeps interest.

  17. What can i say, its an comercial video. Prodigy are about to start touring and promote their law – collection. This video is going to give a Pendulum a quite new start for them. But i thing they lost the global dnb audience. Cause its going comercial. Mates there are a lot of artist that are doing the same stuff, i also love pendulum, maybe i deespize their new way of getting to the charts, but no matter what, we have to give them respect and support for what have they don till now. They are one of us. Bassheadz, junglist, just you know every single one of us is caught up by the root of all evil.

    its the live performance that kept them alive.

    Voodoo people is basically a mishmash of other artists music, just like all prodigy music.

  24. i have only just seen this video and it’s great although one major is very wrong, and that is videos being taken of the people who smacked into the concrete posts with a motorola v3, come on guys at xl and the producers, the v3 does not support video capture only playback. only a minor thing to forget but hoho they did :p

  27. yes, i agree with all of you….the video is crap.but…show a little respect to pendulum.i think their tunes are big, bad n heavy(that includes the voodoo people rmx).
    but their way to get dnb into charts really sux.
    i can say im a real junglist….listening to it since ’94….but there are too many “new-junglist”…all those junkies who think “hey…i do drugs….no i have to listen to dnb”….i hate those m*************…..im afraid dnb i s getting mainstream…..:(

    any1 no whether ‘Planet Orion’ is actually by pendulum??? as is also a good tune..
    As for the pendulum voodoo RmX they promo is much better sounding and if you’ve heard this tune played loud/live you will love it.

    Fits nice though.
    Pendulum, the remix, and the video rock in my opinion. D&B gets stronger and better. Kind of evolution

  40. Great Song, Great Video. Check out the film “Intacto”, as the whole idea of blinfolded runners is borrowed from that film. Awesome IMO.

  43. Hello.I just want to say that Pendulum is not an artists but rather a track by some guy called Dark Nebula.Latter on a TRACK became an artist.The persons involving in that project actually do not exist.I know all of this because I am a very close friend of Vera.So basicly its a trip.

The idea behind the video is really cool, good script, but really really bad directing fucked it all up: it should be way more violent, people should really die and in alot more different ways, and the edit of the tune is the worst one I know, the 3:43 version I have is alot stronger sounding.

    If you to hear who Pendulum are ripping off then you really should start listening to some real tunes. Try “Time Stretch” by Hyper On Experience, or any of there tunes as a matter of fact, real ’92 dnb.
    You might like to sample some Sonz of a Loop da Loop Era. Danny Breaks, dnb pioneer, absolute Genius. Flowers in my Garden is an amazing EP/album.
