  7. waaaaaaaaaaaah
finally i found id for the tune iam searching for since months (Makoto & Deeizm – Monotonik). damn i love that tune so much :D

  8. Wicked wicked mix… big up Makoto for this! love the piano chords on secret place, phat tune :)

  9. does anyone know the hip hop vocal sample in A-Sides “heaven” ?

“are we living in a dream world… are you guys still green girl…”

sounds like common… but i can’t put my finger on it… its a dope lil track regardless. as is the rest of the mix. big up makoto!

  10. stunning mix. normally i can’t handle so many vocal tunes on a mix, but smiling and head bobbing all the way through this beauty :) big ups to makoto and all @ breaksblog

  11. Probabaly one of my favourite mixes to date..so my energy..so many vibes..just beautiful!

  12. why is this mixed called “Train Wreck”…kinda a bad name innit?
btw for those that asked my company Koch Entertainment is distributing the Makoto album and it comes out on LP & CD 10/9
    ;)

  13. Is no one going to mention that he is off when If We Ever drops? Not hugely noticable, but it is there. Not saying I’ve never, not saying mix isn’t good. Just surprised it hadn’t come up…

I guess I figured that’s why he called it Train Wreck…

  14. Somehow I always expect something special from Makoto after his early records and then the collaboration with MC Conrad.. But his mixes are just ordinary D&B again and again. Even worse, his new album is so disappointing… Makoto is a fallen angel.

  15. That ‘Tonite’ track is awesome – anyone know when, if at all, it’ll be available to download? (either from iTunes or Drum n Bass Arena?)

  16. “Somehow I always expect something special from Makoto after his early records and then the collaboration with MC Conrad.. But his mixes are just ordinary D&B again and again. Even worse, his new album is so disappointing… Makoto is a fallen angel.”

Somehow, I think all the disappointment you are finding is within yourself.

Go on a retreat, take psychiatric medication, anything to help you realize that Makoto is one of the freshest and most creative artists on the scene that puts out high quality and forward-thinking music and mixes. If you’re not seeing that, there truly is something wrong with you.

  17. @DJ Torugo:

    WTF does “Fuck Tune” mean?

I swear you Brasileiros struggle with English way more than Mexicans and other Latinos do (and I’m Mexican)

  18. @ riomx
Please specify a single element in this mix that is not a harsh rip-off of his Progression Sessions from 2003. Mixes like this are exactly a nostalgic brake block to Drum & Bass for people stuck in time. I think it’s nothing wrong about pointing out this perception as the reasons are evident.. simply compare this mix with his mixes from half a decade ago and then stop babbling pure crap like “freshest” and “forward-thinking”.

  19. @pyh

Perhaps this isn’t the best mix that Makoto has made, but then again, can’t people make mixes just for fun? Do you actually think that when he gets down to mix some tunes, he actually thinks “Damn, I better use the freshest, baddest dubz so that I can impress people like pyh on Breaksblog!”

Second, simply because of a single mix, it’s rather a big stretch to label him and his album as “disappointing.” However, it’s easy to see that you enjoy hyberbole.

Lastly, you spout off criticism and say that “the reasons are evident” for it, but with no examples to back up your claims. If you want to be taken seriously and not seen as just another bitter internet user commenting on a blog, you need to present the goods to support your argument.

Otherwise, kindly STFU and sit down.

  20. Funny you talk about hyperpoles while using terms like “freshest” and “most-creative” ;)
The goods to support my argument is Makoto’s Progression Sessions 2003 mix. Needless to say such a discussion also asks for a counterpart with a basic survey of Drum & Bass of the last years.
It’s useless anyway to continue as you simply prefer this sound, so just don’t claim superlatives about that sound being cutting edge in 2007.
And you are wrong, I don’t derive the quality of his album from this mix, I do rate both separately.

  21. Why do ppl online take drum & bass so seriously? It’s like a never ending trend. Pyh & riomx, i’m sure both of you are avid d&b fans but for real… dont go on like you know better than everyone else. It’s just music at the end of the day. Personally i think this is one of the best soulful mixes we’ve had all year, but thats down to personal taste i guess.
If you like it, thats great. If you dont like it… shut up and make something better! But more importantly stop bickering like little children cause it looks bad.

  22. @Cuntus:

I never said that I know better than everyone else.

I can definitely admit that I am hugely influenced by R&B, Funk and Soul, and I see the current meshing of these genres with D&B from Alix Perez, Random Movement, Submorphics, Icicle & Switch, Redeyes, Makoto and more as a progressive step. The music is becoming more soulful.

I can see how some tracks on this mix sound nostalgic and throw back to a few years back, but many of the rest heard here and on Makoto’s new album are carrying the genre further.

In any case, it’s all a matter of personal taste

  23. No offense but this sounds nothing like the 2003 Progression Sessions mix. This sounds alot more like now.. but to each his own. Still, I can’t really see how someone would suggest there is much better dnb out there than this at the moment.
Hell, Makoto finally even stopped doing those long ass intro/outtro mixes like LTJ. This is the goods..

  24. Guys, what’s the name of the track between

Nu:Tone – Goofy and London Elektricity – Great D&B Swindle (Logistics Remix) .

    Thanxs

  25. I was guessing it might be something by Sonic.. not sure but it sounds like something along those lines..

  26. About 31min Drumagick – So Far Away – is this really the tune before Nu Tone – goofy???
    This one is amazing!

  27. Sup, been following makoto for awhile now thru this site, but where can I d/l this mix, the torrent is down as well as the original link…

    sad=(

  28. According to my infos the unlisted track is Makoto – Voyager (CIA)

    can anyone confirm?

  29. right… it’s makoto – Voyager. You can hear this tracks on several high contrast Radio 1 mix…. big tunes!!!!
sounds like it’s Makoto + Tak

  30. Not sure on how long till ‘Random Movement – Her Song’ is released, it has ‘The Things You Do’ on the flip. heard Alix Perez playing ‘the things you’ on his m1xshow september of last year!

  31. Hey does anyone know when Voyager is going to be released? first heard the track on high conrasts mix n fell in love wit it, its so simplistic yet beautiful sounding!

  32. Ahhh yess. Makoto in full effect.

I love it. He always starts a track off great. Can’t wait to see him in the booth or breakin’ for him :)
