  1. wonderful mix, all best tracks are in here! but maybe the end of the mix is not so liquid)

  2. Apart from ruining the first track by double dropping high contrast’s Racing Green over it this is an excellent mix.. right up my street… ‘Electric’ by Commix is the muttz nuttz.. cant wait for the LP…

might as well use this as an opportunity to express my huge disappointment with Hospital records for making such a balls up of the new Logistics EP.. what happened to Last Years Loss, Juno 6, Welcome to the Future etc etc.. instead we get City Life (which is the best tune of the LP) but the rest are pants.. especially the awful AWFUL Cyantific remix of the excellent Spacejam… why tamper with a quality tune??? ARRGGHHH!!

Apart from that .. WICKED! ;o)

  3. if you go on the hospital website you can vote for tracks that werent on the album… they are pressing an ep due to popular demand.
    x

  4. Yes john , big mix. Hospital have let the standards slip a little for me, Scrappin the NHS barrel i rekons.

  5. Hospital records is a marketing machine. I think the best thing on the label is the Calibre remix of “Global Love” and some of the things by Nu:Tone. For the average person tis appealing but it is far from being a “buy on first sight” like Signature or Soul:R

  6. @Strafe. 1st time you have made a decent comment.

I attended one of them Hospitality gigs last year at Heaven and it was absolutely crap. Fast soul music isnt about raving with a bunch of chavs.

  7. Personally I think the whole double drop trend is a bit passed at this point. When it was something new it was ok but here it is used.. .poorly.. And I do to a certain extent agree with the comment on Hospital. They set the standards but have gotten sloppy.

  8. ive never been a hater here on breaksblog before, BUT this was a crappy mixxx. sorry. but . even that otherwwise extremly hipp shaking commix tune electric sounds anoying in this mix, i will swing on kubiks & lomax – off the grid, and call that fast soul music!!

  9. Cyantic’s mixing isn’t the best in the world, maybe bit rushed in places… but fairplay for knocking out a pretty decent mix overall, not everyone can double drop like Andy. Some heavy tunes, especially Commix – Electric and the Matrix ones.

  10. wouldnt go that far (@ cashruling) they throw a sick party. Chav’s dont go to gay clubs.

  11. and, i think the mix is great, slightly sloppy in places, but listen to how fast he changes tracks. and the racing green tease in the begining is pretty sick, check how soon after racing green he drops the next track.

  12. honestly coexist, mixing tunes with these sort of beats is ridiculously easy. Plus most of these tunes are in common keys. I think the cuts he does just don’t really fit ( especially around 2:38 ) and the teases are a bit forced in my opinion. It’s not an awful mix I guess but I thought his longer studio mix last year was far better.. the one with the innerspace samples.
That Ed Rush and Ops tune is a bit too Freshy for me as well.. not into it. The Noisia tune is sick as is Skyscraper..

  13. @Strafe – I don’t see how you can whine at Hospital for the content of the City Life EP when it was the people who are actually going to go out and buy it who choose the tracks that would go on it. Personally I thought that allowing the punters to decide which tracks will be on it was fairly ground breaking, I don’t know of another lable that has done this in drum and bass. No matter what 4 tracks came out there were so many to choose from that if it wasn’t you moaning about it, it would be someone else. I guess that some of the other tunes you want will eventually come out as double A side 12s. I would agree though that its pretty annoying that Beat Box Master is on the Machine flip as well as on the Girl From Mars flip. I want all 3 tracks but I don’t want 1 of them twice.

Double dropping does tend to suck though. Liquid drum and bass just doesn’t lend its self to that style of DJing IMO.

Will listen to the mix on the way home.

  14. God damn haters.

  16. Lekke!!

you should run some kind of “challenge” here with the all the lover and haters of breaksblog, it would be fun, some kind of mix-of breaksblog fan showcase : D

    STATE YOUR SET!!

  17. haterz..

anyway, this mix is all good.. making my afternoon less boring for sure. some weird cuts, but I do that shit way too much when I’m excited.. maybe he’s just hyped he’s been added to the reprise roster .. heh

  18. G’lawd, this mix has kept me going the past week. It’s so short but it just hits the spot when you’re swamped with work but a terrible procrastinator. 11PM, a half dozen cups of coffee, and at least another 5 or 6 hours of work to get done before 8AM… this is a godsend. Except I punch a hole in my monitor every time “Nervous” peeks in. Pop jungle or not it’s nice and angry. Not a filler in the mix, though.

  19. First tune in is so amazingly sick it just just :D

double drop kidna kills it, cant wait for the release.
