lol @ dualstandard
hehe.. is it me or is the MCing on this mix a waste.. I guess it sounded better live ( I wasn’t there ) but I’m not feeling it. Nice mix though, Moving 808’s is still such a tune!
Through most of Nookie’s set and have to say this is really pleasant. Great to hear some old school beat choppage mix styles and MC System really gets flowing on a couple of the tunes. Rad 8)
Classic’s but not feeling the mc,lady free is it or deizm whoever but wicked tunes i have heard some so many times i forgot about a few though like makoto’s what a wicked track. One nation aswell and the other unreleased bits.
Nice on Gav & Scott!!
Man as a Old-Skool Junglist of the ministries (Hardcore Sound). This mix done by DJ Nookie…….IS A KICKASS FLASH BACK into the old skool scene of the early 96-98 era. But in my opinion it was the year 97′ that really ruled the secene when Dn’B was being experimented with Acid Jazz and Tech step.
To be honest…………
The day Hardcore didn’t rule drum n’ bass anymore.
Was the day MC Stevie Hyper D died in 1998. Since then THERE HAS BEEN NO OTHER BRITISH MC THAT COULD HOLD HIS CALIBER AND HIS ORIGIAL GRACE OF STYLE. He was the full emboidement of a Junglist MC, not that there could possible be another MC of later time to come back and challege others with his/her skills. I’ve heard the best like Dynamite,Skibbidee, Lemon D. But there no were near as gread as the Hyper D point taken……..(standard procedure)
And MC Deizm she is very much a Good MC, but she’s not Excellent, not Fantasic, Not even Supra-Amazing. Its just that when she trieds to sing and rhyme over Dn’B tracks she somehow seems to get lost into the background of the music rather than being right in front of it. Her voice is very soft and smooth……..but doesn’t really have that (Kick and Punch) to be very noticeble in a crowd of people.
Again noticed in this mix how her voice is very hard to hear through the hard hitting Drums and Basses.
I do believe she has WONDERFULL TALENT as a “singing women” who would be better off being a “R&B” solo artist than a Dn’B Jungle artist. Again this is my point perspective to her skills and I do see her better fit for “Jazz,Gospel,Soul music” rather than pumping Basslines and Hardhitting Meta-dynamical basslines that OVERTUNE her “Angelic like Voice”.
Peace……….. ;-)
hahahahah! Sorry, this just made me laugh. Since when is the “96-98” era considered “the old skool scene.” Flashback it maybe, but c’mon….

o the big bad doc scott big up doc.
talking bout mcs again? why not stay on topic and mention mc system for his good work that night.
Biggups Nookie. Love the classic selektionz.
Kuze
Cream………….MC System WHO??????
hahahahahahahahahah dude don’t make me laugh to hard, you might make my kidneys hurt!!!! (Lol ;-) )
I personally don’t even pay attention to wack ass MC’s who kill the mix, instead of spiting tight as rhymes over it. Since I didn’t want to sound harsh about MC System. I have a saying for these kinds of things, which i’ve learnt in the past about peoples favorite Wack MC’s…..
“If you don’t have something nice to say about someone….DON’T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!!!!”
Respect me on this k……………The Outlaw
sure r2k.. i’ll respect you, if you don’t say anything at all.
Love the Drum ‘n’ Bass sound circa 1996-1997…blatt blatt!!!
hey, for the record – it wasnt deeizm or lady free -it was myself on the mic and the fact that some people cant even be bothered to read the flyer makes me wonder what business thay have to comment at all?
For those of u who are interested… It was a v difficult system to work on with a limiter, and we couldnt put up the mic coz of the feedback which was also goin thru the dj monitor -so didnt wanna chat too loud to put them off so tried singin softly. It did sound much better live. Big up Nookie for supporting up and coming artists, and if u wanna check out what i sound like properly, have a look on ministry of sound radio Atmosphere show with XRS and The Outfit dated Monday 22nd May – Cheers, Miss Trouble.
You tell em, girl ;0)
LOL… nah everyone’s entitled to their opinion and ting, just wanna reinforce how talented Miss Trouble really is… check out my site: http://www.djshodan.com and listen to “Ethereal” or “Haunted Love” if you need any more proof ;0)
Peace…
