  2. Nice tune selection, its great to see a well known DJ playing some older, but still quality, tunes rather than instantly forgetting tracks after one mix just to play all the latest dubs… the mixing is a little sloppy in places but I can live with that.

+ On the same topic I think thats the reason drum & bass doesnt have much of a mainstream following (and im not talking crap pop music.. I mean regular people who enjoy clubbing / students / housepartys etc) Its because the big DJs get so many new dubs (one for another discussion – too much mediocre d&b being produced!) that unless your a club fiend or breaksblog nerd (myself included) noone can recognise tunes played anymore.. Jungle was always cool because you would always hear stuff you knew and it would get a great crowd response.. now the scene has become diluted with too much throwaway tunes with no lasting appeal so that once a good tune has been played for a week, you wont hear it out again (unless it becomes a real classic – but then it just reverts to old old stuff like ‘titan’, ‘turbulance’ ‘alien girl’ etc and not modern classic… anyway I just wanted to get this stuff on my mind while I wait for my food to cook. Its something to start a discussion on ….

  3. I agree with you Strafoid about the issue of dubs and the ridiculous ‘shelf life’ that dnb tunes have but its been like that a while now. With there being a huge amaount of new tunes being released every week it is inevitable that some really good tunes are going to be lost in among the crap thats released. Im sad to say though i have a large pile of records that i bought and now dont play as to be honest im not really feeling them anymore. Drum and Bass however is pretty popular with students and house parties – im yet to go to a house party in leeds that hasnt got a rammed dnb room
